Isla’s fairy garden to come to life in Tulloch’s Kirkhill show home
15th March 2023
Nine-year-old Kirkhill Primary School pupil, Isla Blair, has won the Tulloch Homes Garden design competition.
The leading homebuilder reached out to pupils at the school to transform the garden of their 3 bedroom Lochy show home at the Kirkhill development.
Isla incorporated a range of practical and whimsical features in her imaginative design from a washing line, sprinkler and vegetable patch to a fairy garden, garden gnomes and candles. Now, after winning the competition, her fairy garden vision will be brought to life by a landscape designer in Tulloch Homes’ Kirkhill show home garden.
Isla said:
“I used to have small toy fairies in my own garden, so I included them in my garden. I put a great deal of time into my design - I worked on it from when I came home from school to bedtime and again next morning before school.
“It’s so exciting that a real garden will be based on my drawing. I’m really looking forward to seeing it.”
Isla was gifted a Hobbycraft voucher and a junior gardener kit along with the three runners-up – Zosia Otreba (aged 7), Lauren Campbell (9) and Leo Korzepa (8) – and the school received a £250 donation.

“We were really impressed with all the garden designs from the pupils at Kirkhill Primary and it was really hard to pick a winner. Isla showed excellent imagination in her layout, as did the runners-up. We’ll be sourcing fairy sculptures to make Isla’s vision come true.”
