Our two bedroom bungalow is a dream come true

Cheryl had always dreamt of living in Scotland, having holidayed in the Cairngorms and the Moray Coast for over 10 years. As soon as Cheryl and her husband came across the Woodroffe Grange development in Forres, they never looked back.

My husband Daniel and I are Heathrow born and raised but holidayed in Scotland for over 10 years, visiting the Cairngorms, Aviemore and the Moray coast. We’d fallen in love with Scotland and had always dreamt of one day living there.

After the pandemic, both of our jobs became fully remote and with Daniel’s children having grown up and flown the nest, we decided it was finally time to take the leap.

We initially looked at homes in and around Perthshire and did a couple fly-drive holidays to explore the area. We’d only ever owned older properties before and were quite taken with the idea of a fixer upper, something a bit more traditional with a cosy fireplace for the Scottish winters.

However, the more we looked the more we realised that a new build might be the way to go. They seemed much more affordable to buy, we’d save a fortune on potential renovations and maintenance, and it would offer us a clean slate which we could put our own stamp on.

We’d never really considered the environmental impact of our home before, having always lived in older properties. However, when we first spotted Tulloch Homes online, we were shocked to learn how much more energy efficient a new property would be. Knowing that we’d benefit from brand new heating systems and lower energy bills really started to seal the deal for us with new builds.

On our next fly-drive holiday to Scotland we drove straight up to see Woodroffe Grange in Forres and just absolutely fell in love. We knew straight away that we wanted a Tulloch home and the picturesque, quiet town of Forres was perfect.  

We didn’t have a set criteria for the house, we just wanted a modern and welcoming home. The two bedroom Birch bungalow was the perfect size and layout. The first time we saw the property we were pleasantly surprised that it was much bigger than expected, so it’s more than enough space for the two of us.

The plot we chose has nothing behind it, so we have a real sense of privacy, especially when we’re in the back garden which is without a doubt one of our favourite areas of the house. We couldn’t be happier with the design and flow of the house, there’s not a thing we would change. What’s more, our new neighbours are lovely and there’s a real sense of community in the development.

From our very first enquiry, the service we’ve received from everyone at Tulloch has been first class. The whole reservation process was really smooth. Sales Consultant, Nicola was on hand every step of the way and made what could’ve been a very stressful time much easier.

Since we’ve moved, every member of the Tulloch team that we’ve dealt with from the wider sales team to the site manager and the ground team have been the upmost professionals. Any minor snagging issues we’ve had have been resolved almost immediately and we’ve had constant updates and communication throughout.

Thanks to Tulloch, we now get to wake up every day in our beautiful new home surrounded by woodlands, the sea, and the beach –it’s just a dream come true.
